Summary
- Mizgeb does not require an account.
- Mizgeb does not sell personal information.
- Mizgeb does not upload your customer, supplier, inventory, sales, purchase, payment, or expense records to a Mizgeb backend for normal bookkeeping.
- Core bookkeeping data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted database.
- Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for Mizgeb app data.

Information You Enter In The App
Mizgeb lets you enter and store shop records on your device, including:
- Business profile details, such as business name and optional owner name.
- Customer names, phone numbers, credit limits, balances, sales, payments, notes, void reasons, and transaction history.
- Product names, units, standard prices, stock counts, and low-stock thresholds.
- Supplier names, phone numbers, purchases, payments, notes, void reasons, and balances.
- Expense amounts, categories, notes, currency code, and dates.
- Language, theme, backup-health, and default-printer preferences.
This information is used to provide Mizgeb's bookkeeping, reporting, inventory, receipt, reminder, backup, restore, and app-setting features.
Local Storage And Offline Use
Mizgeb is designed to work offline for core bookkeeping. The app does not require an account or a developer server to record sales, track customer debt, manage inventory, track suppliers, record expenses, view reports, or restore a backup.
The main local database is encrypted on the device using SQLCipher. The database passphrase is generated per install and protected with Android Keystore. Anyone with access to your unlocked device may still be able to open the app and view records, so you should protect your device with a secure screen lock.
Mizgeb disables Android automatic cloud backup and device-transfer backup for app data. This does not affect files you manually export outside the app.
Onboarding And Restore
During first-run onboarding, you can choose a language, enter a business profile, or restore a backup instead of starting from an empty database.
Restoring a backup during onboarding or from Settings replaces the current local shop database on that device. A successful onboarding restore marks onboarding complete. Backup files contain the Room-backed shop database records, but not all app preferences. For example, business profile, language, theme, default printer, and backup-health preferences are stored separately on the device.
Encrypted backup files require the password used when they were exported. Mizgeb cannot recover a forgotten backup password.
Backups And Exports
Mizgeb lets you manually create backup files, customer statement PDFs, receipt PDFs, business report PDFs, and business report CSV files.
When exporting a backup, you can choose to protect the file with a password. Password-protected backups are encrypted. If you export a backup without a password, the backup file is plaintext JSON and may be readable by anyone who can access it.
PDF and CSV exports may include business name, owner name, customer names, phone numbers, balances, sales, purchases, payment methods, product details, expense summaries, notes, void reasons, dates, and transaction history. You choose where to save or share these files. Mizgeb cannot control the privacy or security of files after you export or share them.
Reminder Messages And Sharing
Mizgeb can prepare customer reminder text for WhatsApp, SMS, or Android's generic share sheet. The app opens the selected app or service with the message prefilled. You decide whether to send it.
When you use WhatsApp, SMS, or another sharing app, the destination app or service handles the message according to its own privacy practices. Mizgeb does not send reminder messages in the background.
Notifications
Mizgeb may request notification permission to show local low-stock alerts. These notifications are generated on your device and are used only to tell you when a product reaches its configured low-stock threshold.
Bluetooth Receipt Printing
Mizgeb may request Bluetooth permission to list already-paired Bluetooth devices and print receipts to a selected thermal printer. The app does not use Bluetooth to derive location and does not scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. The selected default printer address is stored locally on your device.
Printer compatibility can vary by printer model, paper width, and character support.
Voice Search
Mizgeb offers optional voice search on supported devices through Android's speech-recognition intent. Mizgeb does not declare the microphone permission. When you tap the microphone icon, Android or the installed speech-recognition provider handles your spoken input and returns recognized text to Mizgeb as a search query. That provider may process audio according to its own privacy practices.
Typed and recognized search text is used inside Mizgeb to filter local app records.
Crash Reporting
The current release includes Firebase Crashlytics. If crash reporting is active, Firebase may collect crash logs, stack traces, relevant app state at the time of a crash, device metadata, app metadata, session diagnostics, app version, operating system version, network connection type, Crashlytics installation UUID, and Firebase installation ID.
Crash reports are used to diagnose and fix app errors. Mizgeb does not use crash diagnostics for advertising and does not include Firebase Analytics in the current release. Mizgeb does not intentionally attach customer, supplier, transaction, product, backup, or expense records to crash reports.
Remote Configuration
When Firebase is configured for the app, Mizgeb uses Firebase Remote Config to fetch limited configuration values, such as report defaults, backup-reminder timing, customer-reminder templates, and statement wording. This lets Mizgeb adjust those values without requiring an app update.
Firebase Remote Config initializes Firebase Installations, which creates a Firebase installation ID for the app installation and periodically communicates with Firebase servers. Firebase uses that installation ID to select and return configuration values. Mizgeb does not place customer names, supplier names, phone numbers, balances, transactions, products, expenses, backups, or report contents in Remote Config requests. Remote Config values are not used for advertising, and Mizgeb does not include Firebase Analytics in the current release.
Data Sharing
Mizgeb does not sell personal information.
Mizgeb does not share your shop records with a Mizgeb backend for normal offline bookkeeping. Information may leave your device only when:
- You export or share a backup, PDF, CSV, receipt, report, or reminder message.
- You print a receipt to a Bluetooth printer you select.
- You use Android speech recognition for voice search.
- Crash and diagnostic information is sent to Firebase/Google for crash reporting.
- A Firebase installation ID and related technical request data are processed by Firebase/Google to provide Remote Config values when Firebase is configured for the app.
- You use Android system features or other apps to save, send, print, or share exported files.
Data Security
Mizgeb uses local database encryption and supports password-protected encrypted backup files. Firebase Crashlytics and Remote Config traffic is sent over encrypted transport. No app can guarantee complete security. You are responsible for protecting your device, choosing private export locations, and keeping backup passwords safe.
If you forget the password for an encrypted backup, Mizgeb cannot recover that backup.
Data Deletion
You can delete records inside the app where supported. You can also delete Mizgeb from your device or clear its app data through Android settings to remove local app data from that device.
Deleting the app or clearing app data does not delete files you previously exported outside the app, such as PDFs, CSVs, JSON backups, encrypted backup files, or files stored in another folder, cloud drive, messaging app, printer app, or external storage location.
For privacy questions or requests related to Firebase crash diagnostics or Remote Config installation data, use the Mizgeb contact form. Because Mizgeb does not use accounts, some technical records may not be identifiable to a specific user without additional device or installation information.
Children's Privacy
Mizgeb is intended for business bookkeeping by merchants and is not directed to children.
